Today was not a very good day for us. In our
attempt to overcome constipation (a common problem), we tried a lot of things
that Mackenzie didn't like. Finally we ended up at the local hospital. The
western world should be very thankful for our medical facilities.

These are just some of the medicines and
herbal solutions we were given at the hospital. Our hospital visit including
the penicillin shots and medicines cost us about $25 including the taxi fares.

Mackenzie is a little angel. She is a very
complacent baby. Every day we see new developments in her personality. She
takes naps and goes to bed without any fussing, this is good, since daddy
believes in sleep. So you'll see her in this position a lot, take a good look.

These are but a small sampling of the happy
parents in our group. Tonight we had dinner with about 60 of the 110 families
presently in China. Tomorrow we leave for Wuzhou, Mackenzie's hometown, for her
passport. We will probably not have communications while in Wuzhou. We will
post more pictures when we get to Guangzhou next week.

The bus ride to Wuzhou was exciting, I though
we were all going to die. There are lane designations but no one follows them.
The bus drivers here have strong wills, we played 'chicken' the entire way. The
old rule of whomever looks, yields. We nearly ran over a cow, a bike, and came
to a screeching halt when we ran out of highway. Nevertheless the scenery was
beautiful and you haven't lived until you experience a Chinese outhouse!

Mackenzie travels well, she either sleeps or
plays with the windows. She is probably wondering what in the world is going on
in her life. I bet they didn't have many bus rides until now. Once we get on
the bus she just stares out the window in awe.

Wuzhou is a small city that is very
poverty-stricken. Everyone here in China rides a bike. We saw families riding
bikes, Dad, Mom and baby. I'm not sure what they would do if there were two
children per family.
